Do you want to learn how to get free stuff?

Everyone loves free stuff, right?

I am a big fan of getting things for free, especially when it’s something I need or have been wanting.

Getting free stuff can save you money in a couple of different ways. The obvious one is that you’re getting something for free! That’s a no-brainer.

But, the other money-saving way it helps is because you can test things out before you’ve committed to buying something that you may not use, enjoy, or want in the long run.

One of the worst feelings is when you spend your money on something, only to find out that it wasn’t worth it. It feels like you’re wasting money, and that never feels good.

Learning how to get free stuff from companies can save you money here and there, and that’s money that can really add up over time.

When people hear “free stuff” they typically think of free samples or old, unused things.

However, that’s not always the case. You can find really incredible things for free if you know where to look.

Plus, there are so many different things that you can get for free, including:

  • Airfare
  • Hotel rooms
  • Groceries
  • Restaurant meals
  • Clothing
  • Furniture

Getting stuff for free may help you to save more money, find free entertainment, have more “fun” money, try new stuff, and more.

One very valuable tip that I have about getting free stuff: If you need to hand over your email address to get something for free, I really recommend creating a separate email address that you use only for freebies. This way your main email address doesn’t get bogged down with sales emails, and it’s easier to keep track of all the freebies that you are signing up for.

Here’s how to get free stuff.

1. How to get free airfare and hotel rooms

Do you use travel rewards credit cards? If you can trust yourself not to go into credit card debt, this can be a great way to get free hotel rooms or free airplane tickets.

Some of my favorite rewards cards include:

2. Spend your credit card points

Did you know that you can use credit card points for more than free or discounted travel?

Some credit card companies have started letting you pay for things on Amazon or PayPal using your credit card points.

This can be a good way to get free stuff just by spending money as you normally do.

3. How to get free samples

PINCHme is a website that will send you free samples by mail. They do this for market research purposes, and they ask that you provide your opinions on the free products they send you.

Recent free samples sent out by PINCHme include Olay moisturizer, Haribo gummy bears, peanut butter, cat food, and more.

Another way to get free samples is to sign up for paid online surveys. Occasionally, you may receive household goods and free samples to review.

The companies I recommend include:

  1. American Consumer Opinion
  2. Survey Junkie
  3. Swagbucks
  4. InboxDollars
  5. Branded Surveys
  6. OneOpinion
  7. Pinecone Research
  8. Prize Rebel
  9. MySoapBox
  10. Opinion Outpost
  11. User Interviews

4. Save money and win prizes

Did you know that you can get free stuff by simply saving your money?

It’s true!

PrizePool is a new way of banking that gives you a 0.30% fixed APY on your savings and a chance at winning $10,000 every month.

You get 1 ticket each day for every $1 that you have saved (for example: every $100 that you have saved earns you 100 tickets per day and 700 tickets per week).

Your tickets cost you nothing, it is simply an easy reward you get for saving your money with PrizePool.

All of the tickets you earn are then automatically entered into their weekly drawing where you get a chance at winning one of 6,000 cash prizes including a $10,000 Grand Prize each month.

Plus, whether you win a prize or not, your savings are always guaranteed to earn 0.30% APY.

This is a great way to get something for free and be rewarded by simply saving money.

PrizePool’s mission is to help Americans improve their finances. PrizePool realizes that the majority of U.S. households spend their hard earned money on playing the lottery each week, even though it is very unlikely that they will ever actually win the lottery.

This is where PrizePool comes in – You get the opportunity to save your money in a savings account and have the chance to win real cash prizes.

PrizePool makes saving money fun, so that you are more motivated to save money and improve your financial situation.

If you are pregnant, then you can possibly get a free baby box filled with items you’ll need in the upcoming months.

You typically get a free baby box when you create a baby registry. These boxes are often filled with free baby samples, such as newborn laundry detergent, baby bottles, toys, pacifiers, baby onesies, and more.

I got both the Amazon baby box and the Babylist baby box, and they were both great and free! I simply created a registry through both sites (which is something that I was already doing), and I received the free baby box once someone purchased something off my baby registry.

Walmart and BuyBuyBaby also give you the option to get a free baby box for signing up for a free baby registry as well.

Another way is to go to your local library and use your library card. No, you won’t be able to keep the items, but you can borrow them for free. Many libraries allow you to borrow much more than just books – you may be able to borrow park passes, hiking gear, movies, games, and more.

Before you try to sign up for too many things, I do want to share some tips. In addition to the tip I gave at the beginning of the blog post about creating a separate email address for freebies, I also recommend:

  • Be careful when you give out your credit card information. Some companies may require that you give up your credit card information. While the above list includes only legitimate freebies, I want you to be careful if you venture outside of this list. Some freebies may be scams in order to get your credit card information.
  • If there is fine print for the freebie that you are trying to get, I highly recommend reading it and knowing what you are getting yourself into.

Other than that, enjoy!

There are so many different ways to get stuff for free. And many times, it’s just fun trying out new things or getting the items you already use for free.

  1. One thing I tend to do is if I have a certain credit card that pays the most cash back rewards when I’m shopping online or eating at a restaurant, I’ll use that credit card to get cash back online from using a cash back app. And I also use the credit card for food shopping and paying for gas, that possibly entitles me up to potentially 6% rewards.

  2. Awesome points!

Two more I’d suggest are libraries (while you can’t keep books or tools, you can get free access to movies, online subscriptions to magazines, newspapers, and even online courses).

The other one I’d suggest is volunteering! I’ve volunteered for many events (in a more normal time) and received tons of snacks, food, clothing, accessories like sunglasses, and useful things like steel water bottles, bike lights, phone cases, headphones, duffle bags, and hiking gear.

    1. Yes, these are both great options!
