Recently, a reader asked if I could create a roundup post of my favorite bloggers who publish monthly income reports.

I thought this was a great idea, as there are a ton of amazing bloggers out there who are kind enough to share how much they make from blogging (and other related services) each month.

As a little refresher: Every month I publish a monthly online income report. I publish these monthly income reports for many reasons.

Before I started blogging, I knew nothing about side hustling and making money online. I didn’t think side hustles were worth the time, and I thought the only way to really increase your income was through your day job through raises and promotions. If it weren’t for others publishing their monthly income reports each month, I don’t know if I would have ever attempted side hustling. I want to help others see the positives in side hustling and how it can change your life.

I also like to publish my income reports each month because it is a great way for me to reflect on the previous month, learn from any mistakes I may have made, and to also see what areas I need to start working harder in.

I believe these two reasons are why a lot of other bloggers choose to share their monthly earnings as well. It’s a great motivator and it shows that you can actually make money doing something that you enjoy.

Below are several bloggers who share their income reports each month. I always make sure to read these posts and they are some of my favorite reads each month. If you are interested in starting your own blog, I have a tutorial that will help you start a blog that you own for super cheap, at only $3.49 per month for blog hosting. Plus, you will get a free blog domain through my link as well.

EDIT July, 2016: I recommend checking out my online course for bloggers, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. I earn over $50,000 a month through affiliate marketing and I share my exact strategy and tips in this very informative online course. If you’re a blogger, then you NEED this course.!

Smart Passive Income

SPI publishes one of my favorite income reports each month. He makes a crazy amount of money. When I say crazy, I mean it. He makes around $80,000 to $90,000 each MONTH through his blog and related services that he offers.

Pat was laid off in 2008 and I think it was probably a good thing to happen to him. He was able to put more time towards his blog and it all grew quickly from there.

You can find Pat’s monthly income reports here.

Club Thrifty

Holly is a good blog friend of mine, and I enjoy reading her income reports each month. She left her day job a little before I did and she gave me a lot of motivation towards leaving my day job.

Holly made a little less than $12,000 last month through her online endeavors. She writes all over the place for several big websites and makes most of her income that way, I believe.

You can find Holly’s latest income report here.

Budgeting in the Fun Stuff

Crystal is the main reason for why I started to seek outside income in my life. Her income reports were one of the very first I ever read. Her income report used to be published on her blog, but she now only sends them out through her newsletter.

Retire By 40

Like Budgeting in the Fun Stuff, the owner of Retire by 40 only publishes his income report to his newsletter. This is another newsletter I highly recommend you follow.

Beat The 9 To 5

This blogger publishes a diversified monthly income report. He includes dividends, capital gains, website income, income from flipping websites, and more. He makes several thousand dollars each month, but last month he made nearly $14,000 with the help from the sale of a website of his. WOOHOO!

You can find Robert’s income reports here.

Pinch of Yum

Pinch of Yum is a website I love. Lindsay posts income reports each month, but she mainly publishes food-related posts that always look extremely yummy. Lindsay used to be a teacher but left her teaching job to blog full-time.

This website (and her related services) makes around $20,000 to $30,000 each month!

You can find Pinch of Yum’s latest monthly income report here.

Matthew Woodward

Matt is another blogger who provides a very detailed income report each month. One thing I love about his is that he makes a decent amount of money from several different affiliates. This is something I need to work on.

Matt makes a little less than $20,000 online each month.

You can find Matt’s online income reports here.

Do you enjoy reading income reports? Why or why not? Do you find them motivating like I do?

If you are interested in starting a blog, I created an easy-to-use tutorial that will help you start a blog of your own for cheap, starting at only $3.49 per month (this low price is through my link only) for blog hosting. In addition to the low pricing, you will receive a free blog domain (a $15 value) through my Bluehost link if you purchase at least 12 months of blog hosting. FYI, you want/need to be self-hosted if your website is used for freelancing purposes or if you want to make money blogging.

  1. I love reading income reports from bloggers – I read most of these, bar one you’ve mentioned. I find them both inspiring and motivating, as it makes me think that maybe I can do it too! Maybe one day anyway 🙂 I love how transparent these people are too and how honest they are about their online income, you included!

  2. I like reading how other bloggers created eranings from their blog, is good the fact they share monthly giving suggestions to other that would like to do the same

    1. Thanks! Do you currently make any extra money?

  3. Kirsten

I often don’t read people’s income reports because it’s usually “I made so much money” but leaves out HOW – the exact how anyway.

I’m a blogging newbie and I know I shouldn’t expect to actually make money from my blog just yet, but it’s important to my goal of paying off debt AND staying home that my blogging endeavors earn something! I’m in awe of the people who are making such great blogging incomes and I’ll admit to being jealous.

On the other hand, reading an occasional income report or a roundup like this can be incredibly motivating.

    1. I know what you mean. I don’t detail the exact ways I make money in my income report each time, mainly because it’s already been described in several past posts of mine.

      1. Kirsten

And don’t think I haven’t been poking around trying to read everything you’ve written on the subject! 😉 you do a great job with details. Lots of others with income reports leave things very generic.

        1. Yay I’m glad you think I’m detailed! I receive so many emails from people asking me to be more detailed and I’m not sure how I can be any more detailed. I have tons of posts on this subject 🙂

      2. Michelle,
I’m new to your site as well as a newbie blogger. Sorry if the answers are obvious in your previous posts, but what was the first thing you did that made a dollar? What was the gateway to making this happen for you?
If you’ve already written about this, can you direct me to an earlier post? Like many, I’ve tried my hand but still don’t get over the hump of that first dollar. I feel I can learn how to “scale” it once I can make it past that first hurdle. Thoughts?
Thanks for posting your income reports, as well as the mentions you have here.

        1. I made my first $100 from an advertisement on my blog. A blog friend of mine referred me to a client of hers and the rest is history 🙂

  4. Wow! I’m always blown away by how much money people make blogging–it’s certainly inspiring. Now if I could just monetize Frugal Hound…. 😉

    1. Yes, it’s definitely very inspiring! 🙂

    2. Yvette

Mrs. Frugalwoods, I’m surprised that your blog isn’t making money yet as I’m very inspired by your blog and I think it’s wonderful. You and Making Sense of Cents are one of my favorites:) I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

      1. Aww thanks Yvette 🙂 I agree, she has a great blog!

  5. I love Pinch of Yum, and that includes Bjork’s income reports! What they do with that money is inspiring too 🙂

    1. Yes, they are amazing!

  6. I would say I like reading income reports but they don’t do that much for me. I’m big on improving yourself based on comparing yourself to yourself, not based on other people. But, sometimes it does help just a little bit to see what’s possible.

    1. Yes, I definitely think it’s helpful to see what is possible. It gives me motivation to read them.

  7. I love reading income reports. It helps me understand what’s possible.

  8. I absolutely love Pinch of Yum!

    1. pallavi

Just reading income reports doesn’t help , let me know how exactly this much money is earned by these bloggers, tell me the ways if you have understood clearly

      1. I have included links to their income reports and you can read more there.

  9. I have followed Smart Passive Income! There are a few others here I would like to look into. At this point, I’d be happy to make $100;0)

    1. I definitely think you can make $100 one day 🙂

  10. Sarah

I love income reports because it gives me hope. While I don’t ever think I’ll achieve quite *that* much money in one month, an extra $1,000 a month wouldn’t hurt. 🙂 These give me hope that if someone can make $12,000+ in a single month, I should be able to make $1,000 without selling my soul.

    1. Yes, you can definitely make $1,000 each month without selling your soul. I have faith in you! 🙂

  11. Holy Toledo! That is crazy money! I had no idea …

    1. Yes, I can only dream of making $80,000 one month! 🙂

  12. Thanks! Yes, lots of great bloggers right here 🙂

  13. I actually am not a fan of monthly income reports. I have yet to see a single one that actually goes into enough detail that gives people practical takeaways. It’s unfortunate as I think it would be a good opportunity for people to share exactly how they make their money versus giving everyone high level buckets.

Not a slam on you, just not a fan of them in general for the reasons I described.

    1. Aww that makes me sad that you think that DC. I usually find them detailed enough to get a good picture.

  14. I enjoy the income reports especially yours and Pat Flynn’s. I find the info to very motivating. If yall can do It I can do it. I just have to continue to create valuable content.

  15. Thanks for for the new reading. I am always looking to learn from others.

  16. Nothing wrong with that 🙂

  17. I agree with DC in regards to some aspect with the income reports. A lot of people ( not saying you!) just say they made this much but don’t really give tips how. Like, I’m sure jobs don’t fall in everyone’s lap but no one says how they found them. Just telling people to go on eLance isn’t that great of a takeaway. I know it’s competitive though and I know people try to steal jobs so I understand in some extent. Just wish there were more to do tips because I’m a to do person. 🙂 This list is great though!

    1. Hmm good to know! I’ll try to think of a post about this 🙂

  18. Melissa @ Sunburnt Saver

I already knew about some of these, but thank you so much for sharing more of these bloggers! I am always inspired by people’s adventurous in freelancing/working for themselves, so this is fun to read. 🙂

  19. Cory

I love Pat Flyn! Pretty much google passive income and there he is. Friggin wizard! Thanks for the others, going to keep them for reference.

  20. Calin

I personally enjoy reading the smaller guys too, with less income than these big guys who are established in the market and get everything outsourced. Their income reports are almost useless for new bloggers, because new bloggers don’t have the resources that they do. The only reasons I appreciate these reports from the top players is that they motivate you to do better, but it’s also tricky because they might make you think that you can match their earnings soon, which is not true. So I prefer to stick to the more regular folks who are just starting out and doing things themselves: there’s a lot to learn from them and especially their struggles.

    1. Which income reports do you read Calin? I’d love to add them to my reader 🙂

  21. Retire by 40, I would love to read if further. That person could be so amazingly good at savings. I am so excited because this good story like this one helps me motivated to do better at saving for retirement and etc.

    1. Yes, you should subscribe to his newsletter 🙂

  22. Thanks so much for the mention! I can’t believe Smart Passive Income makes 80-90K per month! Wow! I would probably only work one month per year =)

    1. Haha yeah that would be crazy!

  23. Yvette

I’m not a blogger yet but hope to be someday. I find the income reports very inspirational. Thank-you for posting them.

    1. Welcome Yvette 🙂

  24. Nina @ RichLife.io

I have a love-hate relationship with them. I love them because they taught me there are more ways to earn money than a 9 to 5 desk job. I once genuinely thought this was the only way and I was just screwed for it not working out well for me. On the other hand I then look at my own blog and see 4 months in I’ve yet to earn anything with advertising. Quite sure that is just very normal and there is a long quiet period before things suddenly gain traction, but I’m prone to some self-doubt. Still, I power on for now, and I have avenues left unexplored I should go down to work on traffic and visibility.

    1. It took me a long time before I earned anything from my blog. I believe I earned my first $100 at 6 months and that was because a friend of mine offered me an advertising deal 🙂

  25. Connie @ Savvy With Saving

I love reading income reports. Keeps me motivated! Thanks for these suggestions!

  26. Newlyweds on a Budget

That is so insane!! It is wonderful to get such inspiration from people who are really doing it. Look at how far you have come Michelle!

    1. Thank you! You were one of my side hustle inspirations as well 🙂

  27. I plan on doing a post about how to get started soon. You are not the only one who has said this to me, and I think this would be a good post!

  28. Yes, he is really good at what he does!

  29. I follow Smart Passive Income and Club Thirfty – both excellent blogs. And of course, your blog 🙂

Thanks for the other suggestions; I’ll have to check them out.

  30. Lakshmi @ Thenaircouple.com

Thanks for sharing these, I actually follow Holly’s blog and she did reach that new plateau of 12k last month. I make about $150 from my blog per month. I am one of the smaller bloggers and that’s only from Adsense.

  31. I love income reports, especially pat’s and bjork’s, for the details and the teachings in them. I’m trying to detail my wins and my failures with mine. I was only publishing them to my newsletter, buy I just changed my mind this week.

  32. I’ll definitely have to check these out, as most of them are new to me! I just love income reports, half because they’re kind of voyeuristic, talking about a taboo topic and giving me a peek inside someone’s life, but also because they’re inspiring, especially yours Michelle!

  33. Thanks for sharing!! I’ve never heard of some of these blogs.

I definitely get motivated by reading these reports. It forces me to dig deeper into their sites and posts to try to learn from their successes and failures.

  34. Thank you for answering my question! Now I have a few new ones to follow 🙂

    1. Welcome Rachel 🙂

  35. I love income reports. So interesting to see what people in different niches make and what makes them successful. I’m a huge fan of telling people how much I make and hearing their reaction.

  36. This is a good thing to know, because many people today are still unsure about blogging and how powerful it can be when it comes to making money online full-time. How long did it take you to get serious traffic to this blog after you launched it?

  37. Sky

Hi! I’ve always been really interested in blogging, I just haven’t the slightest idea where to begin! Do you have any tips?

    1. Hello!

This post of mine shows you how to start a blog – https://www.makingsenseofcents.com/2014/08/how-to-start-a-wordpress-blog-on-bluehost.html

Also, if you scroll down to the end of that post, I have listed out a bunch of other blogging-related posts that should help you out 🙂

  38. Misty

Thank you so much. This is such an inspiration, My intention of making a blog was to start releasing some of these pregnancy hormones and rant and rave. But I am really impressed by this collection of bloggers. Hope I can be there one day.

  39. Thank you so much for sharing your monthly reports, as well as some of your favs to follow!
My story is a little different, when it comes to making $ online…
3 years ago, I broke my foot. Which is no big deal, right?! That’s what I thought at the time… But unfortunately, the break caused me to develop a health condition called Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS) aka Regional Sympathetic Dystrophy. It’s a progressive condition, with no cure. And it’s recorded to be the most painful health conditions known to mankind… At 24yrs old, I had to stop working (at a brand new dream job), and move back in with my parents.
Three years later, at 27, the only thing that’s changed is the severity of the condition.. And the huge amount of debt I’m in bc of medical bills.

I figure, if I’m able to make even a couple hundred a month, I’d be able to at least help pay medical expenses. But if I was able to start making around the same as you, or any of the above? The words “Life Changing” would be an understatement!

So thank you for putting yourself out there, by sharing your information! 🙂
It’s a great “guide” and an inspiration.
    -Heather Lynn

  40. This is great!! I love that some bloggers are so transparent! I find it to be really inspiring… 🙂 I will be sure to check out the reports mentioned!

  42. Ellie

Just WOW at some of those figures for earning ‘on the side’ i thought i was doing a good job with £500 a month from online stuff lol! I will progress no doubt in time. Health issues stop me doing a lot but i’m happy ticking along earning a bit extra atm 😉

  43. Mel

Thank you for this! Soooo inspiring! I’m hoping to make an extra $2k per month from my blog. I know it’s going to be a long journey but I hope it pays off! PS- I love your blog.

  44. Andrea

Just found your list. I wrote a similar one recently (liked below) and found it neat that we crossed over on A Pinch of Yum. Love finding new, successful bloggers to follow, so I appreciate you sharing the list of bloggers who inspire you.

  45. Sharon
